I have problems with letters 3" and smaller staying in place with 1/8" dibond. this time I cut the surface at 2ips then a final pass at .05 with a upcut 1/8" bit. I had used pray adhesive to glue the material down.
I debated on cutting the surface with a upcut bit (last time I used a downcut it left a burr on top but I may have not done things right) so I am debating on cutting the surface with a upcut and the final almost full depth pass with a downcut.

Probably doesn't help you, but I have cut lots of Dibond using vacuum hold down and Tabs. Usually 2 tabs (very small) per letter on the flattest part of the letter, and then clean up with a belt sander. I haven't had any problems with a SHARP upcut (I use one endmill exclusivly for dibond) full depth single pass. Not that it should make any difference, but I've always had the best cuts with the protective film still on the Dibond. I hope you can get something useful from this. Good luck Steve.

does the material come with a protective film layer? surface your bed and cut through the material but not the film.
