This was one of the first 3d carvings that I did with the ShopBot. I started with a white and black gradient image in photoshop. Then I created a surface in rhino 3d by using the image height field. I created tool paths and sat back for about 10 hours while the machine did its thing.
It is a maple shelf that I found in a building at FSU.
There was A LOT of hand sanding afterword. I then finished it with teak oil.
