Optimal Cutting Parameters for Hard Materials Using Carbide Tools

Hello,

I currently working on aproject that requires machining hard materials like hardened steel and titanium alloys using carbide tools. To optimize the process, I need advice on a few key aspects. :confused:

I want to know what are the cutting speeds and feed rates for carbide tools when working with these materials? I am interested in how these parameters might vary depending on the type of carbide grade used.
I would like to know about the effectiveness of coolant in improving tool life for these materials are there special types of coolants / methods of application that are more effective? Also interested in understanding the common indicators of tool wear when machining hard materials and how I might adjust my parameters to minimize it.


Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

If you expand the commentary in his video he lists all the settings that he used, and a link to the Rhino plug-in that he used to create the toolpaths. Your mileage may certainly vary.
