I've got a PRS Alpha with tool changer. I'm trying to set up a 3" spoil board tool but it's larger than the pressure sensitive z-zero plate that's mounted on the tool rack. How do I z-zero the spoil board tool so that it's consistent with the other tools in the rack?
Can you manually zero to the table top
In the new version of SB3 -- you can set up "off rack tools" -- so if you have 9 tools on your rack -- tell it to change to bit 10. The machine will drop off whatever tool you currently have and then ask you to manually insert the "off rack" bit. If you start a bit measurement for that bit the machine will use the regular Z Zero plate to measure the bit on the table surface. It will record these bit lengths and you can use these bits in regular files -- you'll just need to manually insert the bit when the machine calls for it.
