sikken log and siding
I just cut a sign/plaque in 3-d to send to my favorite vet support group in Texas, which was cut in black walnut. To my understanding the sign will be hung outside but under an over hang, so no sun but Texas humidity.
My thoughts are to do it in Sikkens. But here is my question. I have some lettering that needs to be stained. First i need to seal the lettering to prevent bleeding. Here is the question: Will the sikkens adhere properly to the sealer outside of the lettering or does it need to be totally sanded away? If it will adhere will it blend in or will it look splotchy?
I have used the log and siding on a black walnut v-carved sign and it turned out great. I like the stuff, but it will burn your eyes.

Sikkens is made to go on raw wood, and not on top of other finishes.

raw wood
I hate reading directions. But i have sikkens all over my house and it went on raw wood and I have a 100 percent logo sided home. Now that said we are talking about pine vs black walnut and cetrol vs log and siding. I agree with that fact that it does not play well with others.
