    Default NASCAR air deflector

After over a year of "this bot sure is messy" I made an air deflector for the bottom of the PC router.

It came from a 5 inch diameter "plastic tire" that was a case for a Dale Ernhart race car. (gives the bot a sort of NASCAR look )

Cut a 1.75 in hole in the middle and with a little double sided tape, the dust collector now works much better as I am not trying to blow air down from above... no problem with wrenches.

The decimal point seems to be the most important on the z axis... x & y not so much....

I was just curious. What is the best way to remove tabs from polycarbonate?

    Thanks, Bill

Don't know if they still have any of them around but some years back SB had the "official" deflector for PC routers.

I seem to recall a thread on this subject and I recall the cheapskates solution (my favorite) was the bottom cut out of a 2 liter pop bottle.

    I used a deli container.

Be sure to eat the potato salad first before attempting installation.

How thick are you leaving your tabs?

I leave about 1/32" and nip them off with flush cut sidecutters. Works slick!

Yes, the PC head does blow alot of chips around... I'll have to give this a try...

Does this limit the amount of air flow that cools the router?

The best way is to not use them at all!

    Pursuant to that...Look at this
