Yes and it's wired directly to the relay in the control box. just a simple jar lamp with a red CFL bulb in it. And its attached to the dust hose holder.

Default I foun out how to do it.

OK I find out what to do to put a warning light on my spindle to let me know it on. This is for the Yaskawa v7 vfd that I got with a PRSalpha. First you have to program the vfd it easy. Press the DSPL and hold till the number window changes. Then press the up button ^ until the desired parameter number is displayed (NUMBER 57) Then press enter. Next use the ^ button to change the value from 0 to 1. Then press enter then dspl. That it. Now the relay inside you will see a terminal board with the letter MA MB MC. This is a n/o n/c contact you can use to control whatever. It turn on and off with the spindle. I used the n/o (normally open contract) and took 24 volt from the shopbot control box and put a 24 volt DC light by my spindle. I would not suggest using a/c near any of this as it has it might cause erratic behavior with the spindle.
I hope this may help someone else. I call shop and they there are no relay in the control box that I could use or jump off of for this. I told them what I plan to do and they said that was good. They also gave me the parameter number.

OK, so I know this is a really old thread but trying to make this work. I have a hard time of hearing my spindle with DC running so I want a light "only" when the spindle turns on. I did exactly (I think) as frank134 said to do. I programed n057 from 0 to 1. I can't make it work with a meter. Do the MA MB MC terminals act as a ground? I'm checking from a known +24vdc to MA (norm. open contact) when starting the spindle but nothing happens. What am I missing. Thanks.

That just closes a switch/relay. You can test with an ohm meter for continuity to make sure you have it programed correct. You can have it apply gd or run power through it either way.
