    Default Gears and a clock

I had some time this weekend to make a clock. I started off by thinking I would go with a pendulum and weight but I wanted to be done in a day, I did not want to waste the time playing with the timing of a swinging pendulum. So I bought an AC synchronous gear motor and figured the gear ratio from the motor. The motor spins at 6 RPM. The math from the motor is 6:1 for seconds then 60:1 for minutes and 12:1 for hours. Total gear ration it 4,320:1 .

    Ryan,

Did you use your gear program to do this?

I used a Vectric gadget I created. You can get it here http://www.vectric.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=13908. The Gadget will also work in PartWorks.

    Looks great!

I guess backlash isn't a concern because it only rotates one way.

Ryan where did you source the synchron motor from? Do you have any issues with it running hot?

    That looks great Ryan!

It even comes with a guarantee!!

I've been wanting to make a clock for too long, now. I just need to get going on it! Thanks for the inspiration.
