"Faux Granite" covers a lot of territory. Much of the solid surface lines (like corian) appear to be granite and can be worked with saws and routers. So do the quartz based products, but they need stone cutting tools. There is also an epoxy product with flakes in it that can be brushed and rolled. A German manufacturer has come up with a veneer stone on wood substrate product but it is slate, not granite.
