    Default Carousel Horse Head

I've completed the painting on my carousel horse head. I need to make a plaque to mount it on a wall. The model is from the Vectorart3D collection. I made a left and right carving of the head, glued them together, and did a bit of sanding. The painting was a bit of a challenge but I'm improving at it. I've learned that patience is the key.

Nicely done! My dad used to do those all the time (by hand) and boy were they a lot of work! I remember one carousel project he and another gent worked on for almost a year. Something like 24 animals, eeck! Love yours, please show us with it mounted when done. Russ

Thanks, Russ. I've been wanting to do a carousel horse for a while now. For the past six years I've volunteering with a local group in Western, MA to build a hand carved carousel with 33 horses. I didn't want to do a complete horse so I decided to just do the head. It's been a fun project.
Our carousel is expected to open this August. http://berkshirecarousel.com/
Myxpykalix, what was the name of the horse you are referring to.
