    Default Metal round bits

Do the metal round nose bits work very well on wood, such as the ones at American Carbide or Enco? I am having a hard time finding a 1/4 round nose bit with a cutting length about one inch.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Mike,
Those ball end mills are identical in grid, and many time superior, to their 'upcut spiral' router bit counterpart...By all means, yes they are ideal! And they are quite a bit cheaper than if you got them from a router bit dealer...

MSC & McMaster/Carr both sell quite a wide array of end mills. I personally like the OSG brand of tools.
