    Default What type of foam

    another obvious question, everyone suggests "practice foam" what type of foam should we be using as practice foam, and where to get it?

    Pink or blue house insulation foam from the lumber yard or big box store.

    Look up insulation companies in your area, Dow foam comes in 1/2 - 4" thicknesses in 2X8 sheets and 4X8 sheets. I looked at the big box stores then found a couple of insulation supply houses that carry the nice stuff.

    Some Home Depot's carry 1 1/2" to 2" thick DOW open cell foam.

    I live in Southern Ca and they dont carry it here but I have some rentals in Northern Ca and they carry it there so look around
