    Default Solidworks files into partworks?

What do I have to do to convert Solidworks files into files I can open and cut in the Partworks vcarve pro?

    Hi Jim,

Export 3D SolidWorks models as STL mesh files and these can be opened in PartWorks3D / Cut3D.

Open the 3D STL model, calculate toolpaths and Save the complete PW3D / Cut3D file. This file contains the 3D model + toolpath data and the toolpaths can be imported into PW / VCPro project. When imported into PW / VCPro the toolpaths can be moved by clicking and dragging the 2D greyscale preview image. This allows the 3D toolpaths to be previewed relative to 2D / 2.5D elements such as text on a sign or carve plaque.

There's a tutorial explaining how to combine 3D Cut3D / PW3d toolpath files with VCPro / PW projects on the vectric web site,

    See > http://www.vectric.com/WebSite/Vectr..._tutorials.htm

2D SolidWorks designs should be exported as DXF files and these can then be opened / imported into PartWorks / VCarve Pro.

    I hope this helps,

    Tony
