I saw you posted on the Vectric forum as well. Did you get this resolved?

Man, I wish I had room for a second machine. So close, but no room.
It worked fine with the dust foot.
I've since moved on to an ATC spindle.
I used a deli container on my Porter Cable. In addition to the hole for the collet coupling I cut holes for the 3 screw that pass through the deli container into the unit.
I used the container...
> working with a very soft material such as redwood
Apply sanding sealer on redwood the day before cutting. I use MinWax sanding sealer that I picked up a a big-box hardware store.
I noticed a ShopBot in the San Francisco CraigsList for $6K. I'm just posting here as an FYI. I don't know anything about the machine or the seller.
Used Shopbot CNC Router - $6,000 (mission...
Steve,
That is a great presentation.
If someone outside of San Jose wants me to inspect the machine for them I'd be glad to help. Our first machine was a PRT Alpha from 2005 so I am familiar with this type of setup.
Wish I had room for a second machine.
Yes, that frequently happens on PhotoVcarve and the ShopBot post processor. You can change the post processor. Look for the file ShopBot_inch.pp in the PostP folder under PhotoVCarve.

Is there someone with a 4th axis who is interested in doing a run of 100-400 pieces? I’ve been doing the proof-of-concepts, but I don’t have the time to do production runs.

Gary's site (BeckwithDecor.com) hasn't worked for me the past few weeks I've tried. I get the error:

Is he OK?
Is he still selling bits?
Is there...
Here is an example of what they are cutting
Pearl and abalone dust is not toxic, but it is very unhealthy to breathe. The particles are sharp edged and the lungs find it difficult to expel them, resulting in silicosis, a nasty, debilitating...
In the Custom Shop area of the Martin guitar plant there were two ShopBot desktops being used to cut pearl and abalone. They were using Aspire as the CAD/CAM software.
That is a good price.
I really like small machines. Unfortunately I don't have room for another.
I think you will be pleased with the point roundover. A large ballnose also works well with the indexer.
Using vectors that are close together will "overlap" when cut deep enough and generate...
If you are interested, it is possible to do this design using 2D toolpaths and a larger diameter form tool (point roundover). That way it could be machined in about 30-40 minutes.
According to the spec sheet:

Your carvings are beautiful.

I went to a nearby stone wholesaler to see if they had remnants or cutoffs. They don't do any fabrication, but they directed me to an industrial park about a half mile aware where there are a dozen...
Yes. Normally I'd just use my dull bits from woodworking. However, I didn't have any and I didn't want to use a brand new tapered long reach 1/8" on stone.
I had an 8 pack of bits that I bought...
