Are the pc connected to internet in any way?

I once had a W7 machine "update" and that screwed everything up, maybe 18 months ago.
An acquaintance who is at Microsoft said they can force some updates to 7 , even if you think you have disabled updates, go figure

That could probably be it. They are both connected to the internet.

This is why control computers should never be connect to the internet. Too many chances of something happening in background that messes up. Even sound and video cards software will stealth update when windows update is off.

Thanks! But we use Dropbox for everything here so I need to be connected to the internet unfortunately.
